How are we doing?

Everyone likes a bit of feedback now and again. If you have used our service – this could range from training to Inter-Library Document Supply, from literature searching to referencing help – we wondered if you could take a couple of minutes to complete our impact survey? It can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/libraryimpactsurvey

Here’s what some of our users have said:

“The information gained through books taken out has given me insight into how I can improve my practice as a student nurse and into the future.” (Student Nurse)

“My contacts with the library have been incredibly helpful.” (PALS)

“I feel the library service is a highly valuable resource, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. I feel that the library welcoming both staff and members of the public creates an excellent link for engaging people in their own care.” (Research Nurse)

“I regularly rely on the dch library team to get information to help me manage difficult clinical problems. They are incredibly quick, thorough and helpful.” (Consultant)

We are always interested in how our service can be improved so any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Better Value Better Care

Drop in to the Children’s Centre Seminar Room on Friday 6th November between 10.30am and 12.30pm, where the Library Team will be demonstrating a range of information resources such as Clinical Key. All NHS staff are eligible for an OpenAthens password, which facilitates literature searching and gives access to full-text documents, ebooks and much more, ensuring that you’re never more than a click away from vital, up-to-date information.

Building Work in the Library

Apologies, there may be some noise in the Library due to building work from now until 19th December 2014. Work stops then, and restarts on 5th January 2015, continuing up to 30th January. Part of the Library office is being reconfigured to include an I.T. Suite, which we hope you’ll agree should make all the inconvenience well worth while! Any changes to the planned timetable will be posted on the blog and there will be posters around the Library too.

Library staff receive a WOW! award…

WOW award 2014

This afternoon Angela and Jill attended the DCHFT WOW! award tea party.  We were presented with a certificate on behalf of the team by Chief Executive Patricia Miller, having been nominated by a customer for delivering great service.   It was a very happy occasion for all nominated staff and the cakes were delicious!
