NHS OpenAthens provides you with access to all NHS electronic resources subscribed to nationally, regionally and locally. It also gives access to ClinicalKey for DCH Trust staff.
All Trust staff are entitled to an OpenAthens account, as well as students for the duration of their placement.
You need to self-register for an NHS OpenAthens account, and if you use an NHSnet computer or an NHS email address registration is usually instantaneous.
Step 1: Log onto a computer linked to NHSnet and go to:
OpenAthens Login
Follow the instructions to register. You will obtain your username.
Step 2: Activate your account
An activation code will be emailed to you. Codes will be valid for two months.
Go to your work email and click on the activation code. You will then be prompted to choose your password.
You must supply a work or academic email address otherwise your registration will be rejected.
If you have not received your activation code email please check your spam/junk folder as it may have been filtered as spam by your email system.
Once you have a username and password you can access your NHS OpenAthens resources either at home or at work.
Forgotten your NHS OpenAthens password?
All NHS OpenAhtens passwords are at least six characters and must contain a number. The password does not change on a regular basis.
